FREEDOM OF CHOICE -- FREEDOM OF RELIGION

A full-page ad in The Tuscaloosa News (10/9/94) carried the above title. The errors contained in that article will only influence those who are already prone to believe lies for self-serving purposes. However, the truths stated in this ad deserve our serious consideration.

From the article: "Some people argue that the rights of a fetus should come before the rights of a woman." This statement implicitly recognizes that a fetus has rights, and thus inadvertently implies that a fetus is a human being. Should the right of a human being to life come before the right of a woman to avoid the inconvenience of an unwanted pregnancy? Absolutely! How can God-fearing person argue otherwise?

Those who believe God's word cannot avoid this position. No one can read passages such as Psalms 139: 13, Exodus 21: 22-24, and Luke 1: 15, 41 and not understand that God recognizes the humanity of the child in the womb. Medical and scientific opinions are irrelevant before the clear word of God. Thus, the destruction of the child, whether before or after the event of birth, is the willful destruction of human life -- the shedding of innocent blood (Prov. 6: 16-17).

From the article: "Many scholars of ethics and many religious faiths (including the Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ [a denomination unrelated to bible-based churches of Christ --dbb], Unitarian-Universalist Association, and United Synagogue of America) support abortion as an ethical choice; still other religions are divided on the issue." If Muldoon's statements are not accurate, or if they have been misquoted, it is the responsibility of these groups to pitch a sufficient fuss to notify the world that this is not their position. While we hope for such, we do not expect that they will, because we suspect that Muldoon is correct.

If you are a member of one of these groups, you should recognize that the name of your denomination is being used (unopposed) in the promotion of abortion. Your continued support for these religious groups lays the blood of over 30 million innocent souls (to date) and over a million per year to come at your doorstep.

Have no doubts, their blood speaks as did Abel's (Gen. 4: 8-10; Heb. 11: 4; 12: 24). God is not mocked; the day of judgment is certain (Gal. 6:7; Rev. 21: 8). Those who are guilty of this sin (or supporting those who are) need to repent and turn from this heinous sin while there is still time to do so.
