IT’S NOT ABOUT ME
THIS verse!!! “For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory” (Romans 11:36a, NLT).
LORD, YOU MADE ME!
Being my Creator, You alone have the right to decide who I am and what I do. Once again, You made me! End of argument.
LORD, I AM STILL ALIVE ONLY BECAUSE OF YOUR POWER.
At any time, You could pull the plug, and I would cease to exist. I am fooling myself to think I have control over anything. I was created by You, and the sole reason I am still here is because You have allowed it. As much as I might like to think I have control over my life, I do not. My life is in Your hands. Every breath I take is a gift from You.
LORD, THE SOLE REASON OF MY EXISTENCE IS TO BRING YOU GLORY!
My life is not about me. It isn’t about me being happy. It isn’t about me being fulfilled. It isn’t about me being successful. All of those things are only byproducts of bringing You glory. Actually, bringing You glory is what makes me happy. Bringing You glory is what fulfills me. Bringing You glory is what makes my life successful.
Will you say with me, “Any place, any time, any cost, Lord. I am reporting for duty. I want it to be so. Where it is not, make it so!”
If you have never given the control of your life to Christ, will you do it now? If your life makes no sense, this is the reason why.
Right now, reading this, you can pray, “Lord Jesus Christ, You are the one who created me. I repent of living my life for myself. I ask You to forgive me of my sins against You. Thank you for dying in my place to pay the penalty for my sins. I give my life to You, totally and completely, to live it from this day forward in obedience and dependence upon You and for Your glory. I acknowledge You as my Creator. I accept You as my Savior. From this day forward, I obey you as my Lord. I give my life completely to You for Your glory and Your purposes.”
I know people are reading this who have never prayed that prayer with genuine repentance and faith. If you are one of those people, trying to do better and be better will not help. Only repenting of your sins and asking Jesus to take control of your life will enable you to become a different person. Trying harder will do nothing. He must come to live inside of you and change you from the inside out. He is inviting you to let Him do that.
Your life will not change until you make this change.
“Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our own life. He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Cor. 5:14-15, 17, NLT).
