REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, YOU CAN TRUST GOD

“For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything He does” (Psalm 33:4, NLT).

We can obviously trust the good things that come from the gracious hand of God. But we can also trust the things that seem to be bad? Something doesn’t have to feel good for us to be able to trust Him.

There are also things that are difficult to understand, but if we think about them long enough, we can figure out how they could possibly turn into something good. When we figure those types of things out, we are somehow able to say that we can trust God with those complex issues. But what about the things that, no matter how long we have thought, we can’t understand? What about the things that we have tried to figure out for decades, and they still don’t make sense?

We can trust God with those things, too. “His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts.” There are some things that make sense on earth, and there are other things that will only make sense in our life after the Earth. But even if we never understand something until the day we die, we can still trust God.

“God is good all the time. All the time God is good.” He is molding and making us into His image. Sometimes this requires the refiner’s fire, the pruner’s shears, and the potter’s breaking and remaking. “We can trust EVERYTHING He does.” We can lean into Him when everything inside of us tells us to pull away from Him.

Do not forget that “Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on the cross” (Philippians 2:6-8, NLT). Do you think that a God who would do that for you is someone who could not be trusted? He is molding and shaping you for eternity, not for this world which is passing away. You can trust Him.
