RESTORATION
Jesus is the light who came to a world of darkness. He came to restore relationship with the Father. He came to make your ruined and wasted life new. His restoration involves many things, but it always involves putting broken things back together. Even the cracks that remain become beautiful because they are coated with the gold of His grace. (Look up the Japanese art of Kintsugi for a beautiful picture of this).
Are you filled with shame, brokenness, and hopelessness? Jesus came to make you better than before. Because of His blood even the stain of your sin is gone (Psalm 51:1). He has made you whiter than snow (Psalm 51:7). Put away your shame forever. That is no longer who you are. Because of Jesus you have been cleaned, renewed, and restored (Psalm 51:10-12).
Restoration means the Cick are healed, the blind receive sight, the lost are found, sinners are forgiven, the estraged are reunited, the hopeless dream again, the cynics believe, and sadness turns to joy.
Don’t you love the song, “Come Jesus come! We’ve been waiting so long.”
O Jesus, thank You for coming to redeem, restore, and renew. Shine Your light into my darkness and make my dead heart come to life. Infuse what I thought was worthless and ruined with hope, joy, and purpose. I dishonor Your blood and Your sacrifice when I say it was not enough to wash my past clean.
