GOD IS THE GREAT MULTIPLIER

I can't tell you how often I've seen this happen. God definitely honors my work. But I've noticed over and over again that when I do what I can, God then steps in and does what I can't. He adds His supernatural flourish on top of my effort. When I do what I am supposed to do, He gives me additional things I had nothing to do with.

To ask Him to give His blessings without doing anything is a form of laziness and presumption. I liken it to a garden. I can't pray for a harvest if I haven't planted a seed. However, no matter how hard I work at planting my garden, I still can't cause the seed I planted to grow.

But when I do the work, God does cause growth as a reward for the labor. That's a blessing in itself. However, it isn't the only blessing. God sees my faithfulness and, just because He can, He steps in and pours out extra, sometimes extravagant extra, just to show that He's a God of grace and abundance. He gives me additional things that my fingerprints were never on.

There are also times when God repays our labor and effort in unrelated areas. We may sow a seed with someone who has no means to repay us and receive a harvest through a completely different person or source. That isn't happenstance. God sees. God repays. God multiplies. Hand Him your cupcake. He'll give it back with a lot of whipped cream on top! He might even put a cherry on yours.
