DECISIONS AND CHOICES

God is good to me. There was a time not too long ago when I wondered what I was going to do with the rest of my life. I opened my hands and told God He could have anything in my life that was displeasing to Him. I’m not going to lie. He took some things out. But I left my hands open, and He replaced the things He took out with far better things.

I’m at another crossroads now. Instead of wondering if I will ever be able to do anything again, now I’m wondering how I will be able to discern what I need to do with all the opportunities that are opening before me. How will I have the wisdom to know the best choices to make?

I’ve found three passages of Scripture I want to share with you. They are giving me great peace. They may be scriptures you want to claim in your life as well.

“The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:8, NLT).

“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives” (Psalm 37:23, NLT).

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT).

When you look to God’s word for answers, things become very clear. When you worry, stress, and shop around for everyone else’s opinion, things become exceedingly unclear.

Just rest and seek God with your whole heart. He will give you turn-by-turn directions. And if you accidentally make a wrong turn, His Spirit (who lives inside of you), will tell you to turn around. It won’t be a big deal. He will keep you on the correct path. He cares about every little detail.

The Lord doesn’t open doors before you get there, but He always opens them when they need to be opened. He always illuminates the next step after you take the first one. His plans are always better than any plans you could conjure up on your own.

Trust Him. Step out in obedience to everything He has clearly shown you. He is telling you exactly what to do. He’s waiting on you to do it so He can tell you the next step.

Let’s conclude today with a Scripture that never gets no matter how many times you read it. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says LORD. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and I hope’” (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT).

Amen! Now, you and I need to quit stressing and get on with the next thing God has told us to do. We don’t need to know the next 10 steps. Just take the next one and don’t let go of the loving hand of the Guide.
