COMFORT THE BROKENHEARTED
O Lord Jesus, I do not know where people get the grace and strength to overcome sudden and unexpected death and suffering. I do know that You have promised that Your grace will be there. I do know that it will be sufficient. I do know that You have given us the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf and pray for us concerning things we are not able to put into words. I don’t know how to pray. I don’t know how You are going to comfort. I just know You will.
Romans 8:26-27 says, “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father, who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.”
There people right now who need Your comfort, Your peace, Your presence, Your touch. Some of these people are dear friends of mine. And there are multiplied thousands more that I do not know.
Your Word says You comfort the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. I ask that You would do that. I just read in the Psalms, “Light shines in the darkness for the godly.” Shine that light on my friends and on those reading this today.
