THE FIRST 30 SECONDS

John Maxwell said, “Whenever I meet someone within the first 30 seconds of conversation, I try to say something that shows I appreciate and affirm that person. Most of us think wonderful things about people, but they never know it."

Wouldn’t the world be a wonderful place if we were not focused on how others make us feel, but on how we make them feel? Be intentional about saying something affirming within the first 30 seconds, and soon it will become second nature. It will be like hanging a beautiful wreath on your front door. It will make strangers wish they could come inside and have a look around.

If you want to impact the world for Christ one person at a time you have to say something that will make them pause and want to hear more. It has to be about them, not about you.
