ARE YOU WEARY, DISCOURAGED, OR BURNT OUT?

“The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul” (Psalm 19:7, NLT).

Satan’s strategy is to use weariness, discouragement, and the debilitation of burnout to cause you to lose your desire to spend time in the Word of God. Don’t be duped. The Word of God is the medicine and the remedy for those symptoms. It is the only thing that will revive your soul.

When you read and meditate on the Scripture, the Holy Spirit will infuse your soul with joy, energy, and strength for the day. He will give you clarity and direction.

You were never intended to navigate the frustrations you have in your own strength. You weren’t created to live your life on your own. The Holy Spirit has been given to you by God to infuse you with His power from the inside. He isn’t there as a cheerleader to encourage you to try harder; He is there to do it for you and through you. I pray you can see the difference in the two power sources.

I am reading a great book by Benny Tate called “Unlimited.” In this book, he says, “God gave you the Holy Spirit to help you navigate through life; He is always with you. However, you must interact with him to better understand where you are supposed to go and what you are supposed to do. It would be like buying a new car that has a state-of-the-art navigation system installed, but you never use it while driving. You have access to all the directions you need, but you will still end up lost if you don’t turn it on and allow it to direct you. Just as a car’s navigation system gives moment-by-moment updates on your location and prompts you at every turn, receiving a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit prepares you for specific moments throughout your day and prompts you to fulfill God’s plans above your own.”

You have been given the power you need to live a life of joy, peace, and complete clarity regarding what you need to do. But if you don’t access and activate the Holy Spirit within you through prayer, He is as useless to you as a navigation system in your car that has never been turned on.

When you realize you’re operating on fumes and your tank is empty, that is the time to run to the filling station. It is obviously never the time to stay away from it.
