WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED TODAY
I’ve only gotten a few little “piddling things” done today, but it’s been one of the most productive days I’ve had in months. I spent the entire day on my porch with a book and a Bible—reading, and praying, and praising, and pondering.
I highly recommend that you take a vacation day from the world’s definition of productivity. Today, I threw out that definition and went with God’s definition.
The Shepherd of Psalm 23 led me to rest in some green meadows and led me beside some peaceful streams. He renewed my strength. I had appointments, obligations, and deadlines every other day this week. I didn’t have anything scheduled today, and I’m so grateful I let the Shepherd decide how I should spend it. I don’t normally do that. I’m going to do it more often. He chose rest, refreshment, and renewal.
