HOW TO GAIN VICTORY OVER THE LIES YOU’VE BELIEVED

I want to share something that has brought victory and freedom into my life. I've discovered a powerful difference between listening to lies—whether from my own thoughts or the enemy—and speaking truth to those lies. "Listening to" and "Speaking to" produce completely opposite results.

The Key Difference:

Listening to lies leads us to accept and internalize them.

Speaking truth counters those lies with the authority and promises of God.

Victory came when I learned to take charge of my thoughts and to speak truth—not just to myself, but also directly against the enemy of my soul.

Each of us is targeted with custom-tailored lies. These are not random; they’re crafted to exploit our unique weaknesses, fears, and life circumstances.

In my personal journey, I've noticed that most of these lies fall into three main categories:

Fear and Discouragement – “It’s too much,” “You don't have what it takes,” “You’re not even remotely good enough.”

Guilt and Unworthiness – “You’re too broken,” “If people knew the real you, they would be disgusted," “You've failed before and you will fail again.”

Comparison and Inadequacy – “You don’t measure up,” “You aren't a Bible scholar," "There is no need for you, others are infinitely better."

But here's the truth: you and I are not powerless. We have the authority to reject these lies and replace them with truth. Speak that truth out loud. Declare it over your mind, your heart, and your situation.

This shift—from passive listening to active declaring—will change everything. When these thoughts begin to form, I am now COMMANDING them, rather than CONVERSING with them or CONSIDERING them.

Never carry on a two-way conversation with the devil. Never dialogue with him. Don't mull over what he has to say. Don't hear him out. Never ever meditate on a lie. Only meditate on the truth. Meditation is simply bringing something back up again and again. It is thinking about something from every angle and focusing on every aspect until it becomes ingrained in your default mental pathways. You can meditate on truth, or you can meditate on error. Which pathway you choose to take with your meditation determines life or death.

Instead of listening to the lies of the enemy and literally meditating on destruction, you need to firmly take a strong stance and proclaim that truth. Command Satan using the authority of the Name of Jesus. Conversation with Satan should only be a one-way conversation. It should only be you authoritatively commanding him to leave. Every time he attempts to speak to you, you need to cut him off IMMEDIATELY. Take care of it instantly! No matter when, no matter where, stop him in mid-sentence and rebuke him strongly with the truth and the authority of the Word of God and the power of the name of Jesus.

Don't ever press the "replay" button on a lie Satan has whispered in your mind. Don't give it a chance to germinate or take root. Destroy it instantly. As the Scripture says, "Take every thought captive." You don't have control over what he attempts to say to you, but you do have control over what you allow to stay in your mind. When you "pour a cup of coffee" with that thought and invite it to stay for a bit, you are going down a dangerous road.

Think about it this way. If a wasp gets in my house and I see it, I immediately stop what I am doing, no matter what it is. I get up at that instance, while I have my eye on it, and swat it with the closest thing I can find. I can't coexist with a wasp because it can sting me. A lie is much more dangerous than a little wasp. You may not be able to control it coming in, but the instant you hear it, you must stop what you are doing and kill it.

When you hear yourself repeating a lie in your mind, speak the Word of God and the truth of God out loud to counteract and replace that lie. You can't RENEW AND REPROGRAM without REPEATING AND REPLACING. When Satan speaks a lie to you, you need to authoritatively command him, bind him, and cast him out. Don't let him get past the first word. If you speak in the authority of the blood of Jesus and His name, the Scripture promises that "he will flee from you."

Let's get busy renewing our minds and gaining and sustaining victory in our lives. Do it instantly, do it every time, do it at the first thought. Over time, you will not even recognize the new victorious person you have become. I don't recognize myself. Now, when Satan tells me I'm not good enough, I realize he is only saying that because he knows what God is able to do through me. It's a lie.
