GOD WANTS YOU TO MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELF
God is showing me that when I do what I can do, then He will do what He can do. Think—little boy with the five loaves and two fish.
There are small things I can do that I have not done because I have been waiting on someone who can help me do it bigger and better.
I’m going to start doing the small things I can do. God doesn’t need my help. He needs my willingness. If I wait until I can give Him a big impressive thing, it may be that I’m not wanting to make a fool out of myself with my little unimpressive thing. The Apostle Paul said, “We have become fools for Christ’s sake” (I Corinthians 4:10).
God is the one who does the impressive thing with the unimpressive thing I offer to Him. It’s my pride that keeps me from doing the little thing I can do. I like to call it humility. But it isn’t. It is pride.
I want to be a simple saint offering to Jesus the small gift He has given me the ability to give. Now, let’s sit back and see what the one who created the world out of NOTHING can do with the little I give to Him.
Let the show begin!
What little thing can you do that you are assuming won’t make a difference? Aren’t you glad the little lad with the loaves and fishes didn't assume that? As Jill Brisco used to say, “I have a hunch He wants your lunch.” All God wants from you is a seed of faith. He will grow the plant. I love the lyric from Charity Gayle: “In a field of doubt. Plant a seed of faith. And I’ll send the rain.
Do you have a seed you need to plant today? I do. "O God, I give You the little thing I have. I give it to You so that You can set it in motion. I give it to You and 'wait expectantly.'"
