EVERY DETAIL

There is something I’ve been thinking about and I don’t know exactly what to do. So I have a question for myself. Why is it that I think there are some things that I need to figure out on my own when the Scripture says “He delights in every detail of your life” (Psalm 37:23, NLT). Why do I think there are some things I can ask the Holy Spirit and other things I just have to wonder about about and “flounder around” without a clue?

Why would I be willing to ask ChatGPT about something I’m unsure of when I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me and sitting right next to me? That’s a good question. I am being duped by the devil.

The Holy Spirit is not only living inside of me (as if that isn’t enough), but Holy Spirit is also looking down on me from His heavenly perspective AND He is also undergirding me from beneath. He is going before me to clear the way AND trailing after me to clean up the mess. He has told me that He “delights in every detail of my life.” He has told me that He will clearly give me answers when I ask (James 1:5). So why don’t I simply ask Him to clearly speak to me in my spirit and tell me what to do?

Here is the commitment I’m going to make and I want you to encourage you to make. First of all, I’m going to go directly to Him with my questions and if the Holy Spirit doesn’t clearly tell me what to do, then I am going to continue to wait until He does. Secondly, if He does tell me what to do, then I’m going to swiftly act without second-guessing myself. And thirdly, if He tells me “No” when I ask, then I will be at peace realizing that doesn't mean I’m left without a plan. It means He has an even better plan.

Who is willing to join me in asking the Holy Spirit about issues we have previously (and cluelessly) been trying to figure out on our own? It doesn’t have to be a big issue or even something spiritual in nature. He has said He cares about EVERY detail of our life. Why aren’t we taking advantage of what He has offered? I’m going to. Beginning today!
