DO YOU HAVE A DESPERATE NEED?
DO YOU HAVE A DESPERATE NEED?
If you aren’t going through something impossibly hard right now, there will come a time when you will. Some of you are in the middle of it today. What do you do?
Hebrews 4:16 is a verse you can cling to. It begins with “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.” If you have accepted Him, you are the child of a king who sits on a throne. Because you are His child, you don’t have to make an appointment. You don’t have to ask for permission. You are never cut off by His security guards or secret service. You can burst in boldly, at any time. You have free access to interrupt. The protocol rules do not apply to the King’s children.
And you are not the child of just any king. You are the child of the king who rules the entire universe—the creator King, the all-powerful King. But that is not how the writer of Hebrews describes Him in this verse. This verse describes Him as “our gracious” King. He is kind, gentle, caring, and compassionate. This powerful King is the one you can come boldly before at any time because you are His child.
If you are going to an impossibly hard situation right now, you can burst into the throne room and go sit in the King’s lap. You don’t have to apologize for doing so. Come boldly!
What will happen when we do? Hebrews 4:16 tells us. It says, “There we will receive His mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Is this a time when you need help the most? Come boldly before the throne of your father, the gracious King. You will receive mercy and the grace you need at this time, this impossibly hard time.
Your situation may seem impossible to you, but you are the child of a King for whom “nothing is impossible.” He can either change your impossible situation right now or He will give you the grace to endure until the day when all will be made right. He always available to do something “for” you or do something “in” you. Come boldly
