TAKE YOUR PICK
“The proud may not stand in Your presence” (Psalm 5:5)
“I will worship at Your temple with deepest awe.” (Psalm 5:7)
Two options are clearly presented. One may experience the presence of God; the other will not.
Awe and pride are polar opposites. Awe is about how big God is. Pride is about how big you are.
If you want to focus on how much you know, how talented you are, how valuable your opinion is, and how important your needs are, then you will end up with exactly what you have focused on. You will end up with you. How’s that working? If, on the other hand, you are consumed with and in awe of the mighty magnificence of a holy, loving, and all-powerful God, then He is who you will end up with. You will be able to stand face-to-face in His presence. He will hear and answer your prayers. He will share His power. He will provide for your every need.
You pick your prize, and I’ll pick mine. I choose God. I am in awe of Him.
